On a beautiful summer’s day with very little wind, 17 players took part in a team game in which the best two scores counted, except on the par 3 holes where all four score counted. The golf course, which is in the best condition for a long time, was playing very long since the tees were set up for a competition the next day.

First prize went to the team of John Fl, Robbie, Darrell and Vic with a very good score of 97. Two teams scored 91 points but, on the basis of the better back 9, second prize went to Elaine, Michelle, Rosemary and Paul.

Drinks, tapas and prize-giving were at Almadraba. Future organisers of Saturday golf should be aware of the odd and disappointing request of the Almadraba owner that we do not go there again before the end of August.

There will be no Saturday golf next week due to the Óptica Cervantes Competition. Saturday Golf will resume on 5 August 2017.
